The Río Grande Valley farmer shares thousands of pounds of produce with the residents and food banks of Carrizozo, Tularosa, La Luz, and Alamogordo. Joaquin is a member of the TBDC steering committee and has been delivering produce for many years now on behalf of the TBDC.

FOR JOAQUÍN, delivering freshly roasted green chiles to his neighbors is about more than just filling empty bellies. It’s an organizing strategy. “You start talking about green chile,” he explains, “and you end up talking about the issues that the communities have.”
